Vintage 1960s bird brooch from jewellery designer Sarah Coventry. The brooch features textures bird feathers with red diamantes for eyes. The brooch is marked with the name 'Sarah Cov' made in Canada. This brooch is in excellent vintage condition and measures approximately 45mm from the tip of the wing to the beak.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Sarah Coventry was a very successful company selling costume jewellery from 1949 until 1984. Started by Lyman K. Stuart in Canada and named after his granddaughter. The jewellery was sold through parties in people's homes and it is now recognised as the oldest direct selling company in the world. The company ceased trading in 1984 however it was purchased by a new company and continues to sell through jewellery parties, catalogues and other means.
